More About the Album
| Many bands and artists claim that their music is ambitious or innovative, however the Mount King is always able to back this claim up, as each release is just as forward thinking as the last. This time the album focuses equally on atmosphere and heaviness, all with a raw production that gives the album a refreshing edge and to some extend a dramatic flair. The balancing of clean male and female vocals and powerful harsh vocals gives the album a sort of duality, something that is mirrored in the music itself. Musically the album stretches across droning ambience, spacey post-metal, crushing doom and raw biting extreme metal elements. The tracks’ long-form nature of 7 to 15 minutes allows each of these elements to be fully explored as they seamlessly flow from one to the other. Again, the album perfectly demonstrated a sense of balance and duality in its heaviness and spacey atmosphere. Prepare yourself for yet another mind-bending journey that pushes the boundaries of progressive/experimental music from one of the boldest artists currently active in the scene. |
