| Venomous Echoes present us with a discordant, unhinged offering of cosmic horror that listeners will find as stimulating as they do unsettling. Fans of Mayhem’s Esoteric Warfare and later career Marduk will find plenty to love here and yet so will fans of atmospheric dissonant death metal acts such as Ulcerate or Portal. In between all of this you’ll find subtle progressive and at times even jazzy influences woven into the brutality of the release. There’s an amazing balance struck between technicality, atmosphere and dissonance that rounds the album out perfectly. Overall this is an album that feels both familiar and yet completely alien and otherworldly, with its madness being its greatest asset. |
